GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Michigan’s premier cycling event, the Grand Rapids Gran Fondo, is now the KeyBank Gran Fondo. The rebrand, which will go into effect before the June 2025 event date, reflects a strong multi-year sponsorship commitment from the event’s presenting sponsor, KeyBank.

The KeyBank Gran Fondo will take place on June 21, 2025.

In 2023, the Gran Fondo returned to downtown Grand Rapids after a year hiatus. The event, created as a replacement for the MSU Gran Fondo, was designed to continue this signature West Michigan cycling event, which welcomes cycling enthusiasts of all experience levels while raising money for a great cause.

KeyBank was instrumental in Gran Fondo’s return and has been the presenting sponsor for the past two years.

Since its return, this community ride has brought thousands of cyclists to downtown Grand Rapids and raised over $100,000 for local charities.

This year, the KeyBank Gran Fondo features all the same iconic elements of this beloved cycling event: the well-known finish line festival on the streets of downtown GR, professional timing, on-course amenities and police support, celebrity rider, and, of course, a strong fundraising element.

“The KeyBank Gran Fondo is a signature event in our community that brings people of all ages together in our beautiful city,” said Michael Sytsma, Market President and Commercial Sales Leader for KeyBank in Western Michigan. “We are proud to attach our name to this rich Grand Rapids tradition and participate in the fun with almost 2,000 friends and neighbors from West Michigan. We encourage everyone to join us and support the KeyBank Gran Fondo and Mary Free Bed.”

The event is partnering with Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation as the official charity for the second year. Last year, Fondo raised over $81,000 for the organization, and it is proud to partner with Mary Free Bed again this year with the goal of raising $125,000 in 2025. The money raised will go toward their Mary Free Bed Kids, Wheelchair and Adaptive Sports, and Recreational Therapy programs.

The KeyBank Gran Fondo is owned and operated by Tris4Health, a local athlete-focused and community-minded endurance event company.

“Without KeyBank’s steadfast support and Michael’s passion for our community, this event would not exist today. Our success over the past two years directly results from that commitment,” said Jon Conkling, Tris4Health President and KeyBank Gran Fondo Event Director. “With this rebrand, the KeyBank Gran Fondo will continue to positively impact our community while ensuring Fondo remains Michigan’s signature cycling event for many years to come.”

Registration for KeyBank Gran Fondo is now open. The event has four routes to accommodate riders of all skill levels: an 80-mile, 40-mile, 25-mile, and 12-mile Family Ride.
