GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. –Michigan’s premier triathlon event, the Grand Rapids Triathlon, is now the Huntington Bank Grand Rapids Triathlon. The rebrand, which goes into effect immediately, reflects a strong multi-year sponsorship commitment from the event’s top sponsor, Huntington Bank.

The Huntington Bank Grand Rapids Triathlon will take place on Sunday, June 7, 2026.
Located in picturesque Ada, Michigan, the Huntington Bank Grand Rapids Triathlon has been a must-attend event since 2011 and has been voted one of the top five best beginner triathlons in the country. This USA Triathlon-sanctioned event has served as both a national and state championship race, attracting athletes from over 30 states each year. Huntington Bank‘s support has been instrumental since the event’s inception, and they have been the presenting sponsor since its first year.
“We are proud to deepen our partnership with the Grand Rapids Triathlon through this rebrand to the Huntington Bank Grand Rapids Triathlon,” said Lauren Davis, Regional President for Huntington Bank in West Michigan. “Huntington has supported this event since its inception because it aligns with our purpose of making people’s lives better, helping businesses thrive, and strengthening the communities we serve. This triathlon has become a signature event for West Michigan, bringing athletes, families, and volunteers together in a way that promotes health, wellness, and community spirit. We are excited to continue this tradition and look forward to many more years of collaboration and impact.”
The Huntington Bank Grand Rapids Triathlon boasts a flat, fast course that is perfect for both beginners and seasoned triathletes. Enjoy a picturesque swim in the Thornapple River, followed by a flat country-road bike ride, and then a scenic, shaded run with plenty of local support. It is one of the largest triathlons in Michigan, offering Super Sprint, Sprint, Olympic, and Half distances, as well as Aquabike, Duathlon, Relays, and Swim-Only events.
Aligning with Huntington Bank’s dedication to community giving, this event has raised over $208,000 since 2017 for Make-A-Wish Michigan, the official charity partner. It continues to support local nonprofits, such as AYA Youth Collective and My Team Triumph West Michigan, among others.
Originally a one-day event, the Huntington Bank Grand Rapids Triathlon shifted to a two-day format in 2021, featuring shorter distances on Saturday and longer ones on Sunday. To align with the rebrand, the Huntington Bank Grand Rapids Triathlon will return to a one-day racing format in 2026, with all distances taking place on Sunday.
The Huntington Bank Grand Rapids Triathlon is owned and operated by Tris4Health, a local athlete-focused and community-minded endurance event company.
“Without Huntington Bank’s consistent support from the beginning, this event wouldn’t have happened. Our fifteen years of success stem from that commitment and our strong partnership,” stated Jon Conkling, President and Event Director of Tris4Health. “This rebranding ensures that the Huntington Bank Grand Rapids Triathlon will keep benefiting our community and secure a vibrant future for triathlon in Michigan.”
Registration for the Huntington Bank Grand Rapids Triathlon will open on Wednesday, October 8th.
