Pricing & Info
Pricing
We get it—everything’s getting more expensive, including racing. Our priority is you. We never want cost to be the reason you skip a race, so we’re adding some money-saving options to make racing more accessible.  See below for details.
Volunteer
Want to lower race costs? Volunteer!
At most Tris4Health and Boundless Race & Ride Company events, volunteering earns vouchers for future races. Choose a shift, register, and rack up vouchers—values depend on the role, and you can combine them at checkout.
Go Shirtless!
You have a lot of racing shirts. Â Don’t need another one? Â Select the shirtless option during the registration process to save $5. Â It’s not much, but it all adds up!
Refer a Friend
Do you have friends? Â Do they want to race? Â Refer 5 people to the race and we will refund you $20 automatically. Â It’s as simple as that. Â For instructions on how to use your referral links, please follow these instructions.
Discounts for Kids 19 and Under
Kids 19 and under race free if a parent is racing!
If they are racing solo (no parent), they will pay a significantly reduced flat fee (automatically calculated at checkout). Â Minimum age rules still apply for each distance.
- Super Sprint – $45
- Sprint – $50
- Olympic – $60
- Half – $90
If you are racing and would like to sign the kiddos up for free, please email us for the code after you have registered the adult entry.
Team Discounts
Riding is better with friends!
Reach out for a team discount if you’re bringing a group of 5 or more! Â For full details of our team program, please visit this link.
"The Jon & John Life Sucks Scholarship"
Racing costs are up—you feel it, we do, too. If pricing is out of reach (job change, big family, waited too long to sign up, whatever), tell us what you can afford—even if it’s $0—and we’ll work something out. No judgment, no questions. We believe people are good and sometimes need a hand. We do reserve the right to limit free or reduced entries, but we’ve offered this for years at The Dirty Mitten without issues.

How does the swim start work?
We use a self-seeded time-trial start for each swim. Â Find the signs that match up with your target pace or finish time, and you’ll be all set!

Do you have wetsuit strippers?
Yes, we do. Â We like to say that we only strip on race weekends!
What do I do if I need assistance during the swim?
We will have plenty of safety boats and lifeguards on the water. Â If you need help, raise your arm to attract the attention of our swim safety team. Â You are welcome to stop and hold onto a boat or kayak at any time, as long as it does not help with forward propulsion.

1116 Buttrick Ave SE
Ada, MI 49301
What is the parking like?
We know it can be tricky to find parking close to the race site, especially for parents with young kids or older adults. That’s why we will be running trolleys FREE of charge all day on race day. To be respectful of area residents, please park in the designated areas and ride to the start line. Trolleys will stop by every 10 minutes.
Equipment is not allowed on the shuttles. Your athletes can drop off their gear at the Athlete Drop-off shown on the map, where volunteers will watch it. They can then park their vehicle and return to that area by shuttle. Or athletes and their gear can be dropped off by their spectators at the Athlete Drop-off area, and make their way to the transition from there.
Residents & Road Closures
Road closures will go into effect Sunday morning from 4 am – 5pm and will impact the following roads:
- Thornapple River Drive (From River St south to Cascade)
- Buttrick Ave (from Thornapple River Drive to Grand River)
- Grand River (from Buttrick to Old Oak Hill Drive).
This is considered a soft-closure as residents will be able to use the roads, but through traffic will not. Â We have instructed our athletes to respect the rules of the road and encourage you to be careful with so many people sharing the road.
Be prepared to navigate a few barricades and show ID if passing through. Please let the sheriff know if you are attending a birthday party, graduation party, or similar event.
Both Fire Trucks and Ambulances have been notified and have access through the road closures.
